OCD by Tara – Professional Organising Services

1. Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern all professional organising services provided by OCD by Tara ("I", “we," "us," or "our") to clients ("you").
By booking a session, submitting an enquiry, or engaging in services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Scope of Services
We offer professional home and lifestyle organisation services, including:

  • Decluttering and reorganising spaces

  • Styling and layout optimisation

  • Product recommendations or sourcing

  • Custom labelling

  • System creation for improved functionality

Please Note:

  • We are not a cleaning service.

  • We are not a packing, moving, or removals service.

  • Light surface cleaning (e.g., wiping drawers or shelves) is included as part of the organising process only.

  • We do not offer services such as packing or unpacking for relocation. However, we are happy to assist after you have moved, by reorganising your items to create functional systems in your new space.

  • Clients requiring deep cleaning or moving services will be referred to third-party providers.

  • Clients must disclose any known hazards (e.g., mould, pests, allergies, or limited access) prior to our visit. We reserve the right to reschedule or refuse service if unsafe conditions are present.

  • We reserve the right to decline or discontinue service if a space is unsafe, the client is abusive, or our staff are made to feel uncomfortable or at risk.

  • For safety and efficiency, we kindly request that children are not present during organising sessions unless supervised by another responsible adult.

  • We love all animals, but to ensure peace of mind and a smooth session, pets should be safely secured or kept out of the working area.

  • Our working hours are flexible and will depend on mutual availability between the client and OCD by Tara. Sessions must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Please note that product orders and delivery are subject to supplier availability and shipping times, which may vary.

3. Client Responsibilities
To ensure smooth delivery of services, clients agree to:

  • Provide safe, clean, and accessible areas for organisation

  • Be honest and clear about expectations, goals, and budget

  • Communicate any physical limitations or sensitive areas in advance

  • Make decisions regarding item retention, donation, or disposal as required

  • Be present during the session unless otherwise arranged

  • Clients must be at least 18 years old or have consent from a parent/guardian to engage our services

4. Supplies and Products
Clients may choose to:

  • Use only their existing storage and organising products

  • Supply their own products

  • Request that we recommend or source products on their behalf

If we source products:

  • A sourcing fee of $70 applies to the Premium Organisation service above 10 items & multiple outlets.

  • A sourcing fee of $35 applies to the any service that results in storage items minimum 5 items

  • A sourcing fee of 10% of the product cost may apply for extensive or highly customised product requests

  • All product costs are in addition to service fees

We are happy to use any suitable storage items provided by the client, and will integrate them into the organising system where appropriate.

5. Pricing and Payments

  • Premium Organisation: $90/hour (3-hour minimum-maximum 6-hours per day) + $70 sourcing & sourcing fee

  • The Quick Fix : $80/hour (2 hour minimum-maximum 6-hours per day) + $35 sourcing fee if bundle selected

  • Just a Declutter: $70 per hour, minimum 1 hour

  • Prep your Home for the Market: $100/hour (minimum 3 hours)

Additional Cost:

  • Custom Labels: From $2.50 per label

  • Travel Surcharge: May apply outside standard service area (quoted case-by-case)

  • Parking Fees: If paid parking is required at the client’s location, this cost will be added to the final invoice

Deposits and Payment Terms:

  • A 50% deposit is required once your service is confirmed and scheduled. This secures your booking and covers any necessary preparation or product planning.

  • The remaining balance must be paid in full on the day of the service, prior to the session commencing.

  • This policy ensures our services are valued and prevents potential financial loss in situations where clients refuse payment after work is completed.

  • Once we’ve found and agreed on all the necessary storage solutions, I’ll provide you with a final amount due. Full payment for these items must be made to me before any purchases are placed. I will then order on your behalf using trusted suppliers.

  • No credit card details are collected or stored. Payment is required upfront for all product orders to proceed.

  • Accepted payment methods include bank transfer or other arrangements confirmed during booking.

6. Booking, Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Sessions are booked via the Contact Form or email

  • Cancellations or rescheduling require a minimum of 24 hours' notice

  • Late cancellations and No-shows will result in you forgoing your pre-paid deposit

  • If a client is visibly unwell upon arrival and it is believed they have misrepresented their health status prior to the session, OCD by Tara reserves the right to reschedule the appointment and retain the deposit. This policy is in place to protect the health and safety of all parties involved.

  • If you request additional services or areas to be organised by email on the day of your session beyond what was originally agreed upon, we will do our best to accommodate if time allows. Additional charges will apply accordingly and must be agreed upon before proceeding.

7. Liability
While we handle your belongings with care:

  • We are not liable for damage to items that are broken, fragile, or deteriorating

  • You accept responsibility for decisions regarding what to keep or discard

  • We are not responsible for general cleaning, packing, or rubbish disposal

  • We can offer, for a small additional fee, to dispose of or relocate items no longer wanted by the client, provided they are not classified as rubbish. These may be donated to local charities or taken to other suitable locations, subject to availability and agreement.

  • Any third-party referrals (e.g., cleaners or removalists) are independent from OCD by Tara

  • Clients are encouraged to secure or remove valuables such as jewellery, cash, or sensitive documents prior to their session. We may conduct a pre-service walkthrough and, with your permission, take photographs of specific areas to document the condition and contents of the space.

  • Any claims of loss or damage must be submitted in writing within 24 hours of the service. We may request supporting documentation and are not liable for unverified claims.

  • We are not liable for delays or cancellations due to events outside our control, including severe weather, illness, emergencies, or technical failures.

  • OCD by Tara is not liable for injury, illness, or allergic reactions caused by exposure to dust, mould, pests, or other environmental factors within the client’s home. Clients are responsible for notifying us in advance of any known hazards or sensitivities.

  • If your session exceeds the agreed time frame due to complexity, indecision, or additional requests, overtime will be billed in 30-minute increments. This will be discussed and approved before continuing beyond the original session.

  • Upon completion of the session, we may request a brief confirmation of your satisfaction to ensure we’ve met your expectations and to maintain high service standards.

8. Confidentiality & Privacy
We respect your privacy and confidentiality. Any personal or household information shared with us during services will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent.

Photos or videos of your space may be taken to document the process and results. These will only be shared publicly with your written permission.

With your consent, we may use before-and-after photos or videos for promotional purposes, including on our website or social media. These will never include personal identifiers unless you explicitly agree. 

9. Trust & Safety
For your peace of mind, OCD by Tara maintains a current and valid National Police Check issued for employment. This certificate may be shared upon request and is applicable for general trust and safety assurance.

10. Refund Policy

Our refund policy outlines the conditions under which returns or refunds may be issued for sourced products. Please refer to our Refund Policy page for full details.
By purchasing from OCD by Tara, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in the refund policy, including conditions relating to used or opened items and non-refundable goods.

11. Shipping Policy

Our shipping policy explains how and when products are delivered, including options for delivery direct to you or brought to your organising session. Please refer to our Shipping Policy page for complete information.
By using our services, you accept and understand the outlined procedures, including shipping timeframes, missed deliveries, and handling of damaged goods.

10. Service Limitations
We do not organise or handle items stored in inaccessible or unsafe locations (e.g., ceilings, roof cavities, crawlspaces, or areas with vermin, asbestos, or excessive hoarding).

Clients must inform us of any current illness or contagious conditions prior to the session. We reserve the right to reschedule if illness is present. Your health and ours is important.

12. Additional Terms

  • Insurance: OCD by Tara maintains appropriate business insurance, including public liability coverage. Proof of insurance is available upon request.

  • Health & Safety Protocols: We comply with all applicable health and safety guidelines, including COVID-19 protocols. Clients agree to notify us of any health concerns prior to the session to ensure a safe environment for all.

  • Digital Communication and Consent: Bookings, confirmations, and approvals via email, text, or other digital communications are considered legally binding. Clients are responsible for reviewing communications carefully and notifying OCD by Tara promptly of any concerns or discrepancies.

By booking a service or submitting an enquiry, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
